On Saturday, 12-3-2022, Al-Mansour University College - Department of Information and Communications Technology held a blended scientific workshop entitled
AWS Cloud for Higher Educational Institutes
In cooperation with the Iraq Cloud Forum (AWS IUG), it discussed the most basic concepts in the world of cloud computing and the most prominent services that can be employed in serving educational institutions, as well as the educational resources available to university students and professors in order to develop their skills and ensure that they keep pace with the rapid technological development in this field, The workshop was inaugurated by the Dean of Al-Mansour University College, Prof. Dr. Sabah Mohammad Kallow, with a welcoming speech and also a speech by the founder of the Iraq Cloud Association, Engineer Ammar Hanon, after which the workshop began with a lecture on the role of information technology and the adoption of Al-Mansour University College through the Department of Information Technology in the college to a policy of openness to specialized global institutions In this field, as well as the most prominent current and future electronic services of the college, it was presented by Dr. Eng. Mahmoud Shuker Mahmoud, Director of the Information and Communications Technology Department. Then, Mr. Mohamed Youssef, Regional Director of AWS Company in the field of Education and Workforce, gave his lecture online from Dubai on how to build your cloud skills For the future of the digital economy, it deals with what AWS offers through b Its educational programs (AWS Academy, AWS Educate) for teachers and students in order to develop their skills in the field of cloud computing. The third lecture was presented by Eng. Ammar Hanon, founder of the Iraq Cloud Forum and an expert in cloud computing online from the United States of America, and a team of professors who joined the program participated in the development of Iraqi university professors, which is (IUTP), Dr. Atheel Al-Khayyat from Al-Nahrain University, Miss Zahraa Jawad and Mr. Montadhar Essam from Al-Mansour University College in a lecture on how the cloud computing architects team works. It practically touched on several basic concepts that can be adapted to serve educational institutions, the workshop concluded with a lecture on machine learning applications in cloud computing and how to benefit from them in the field of scientific research, presented by Mr. Al-Mamon Rasol.
The workshop was attended by a number of Iraqi university professors and those interested in information technology from governmental and private institutions, as well as a number of students in undergraduate and postgraduate studies. At the end of the workshop, the lecturers were honored by the Dean of Al-Mansour University College with certificates of appreciation.
